About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Geriatrics Physician Assistant for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in California, starting Oct 13, 2025. This full-time opportunity features day shifts, Monday through Friday, with the potential for 4-10s and a random day off. The assignment involves caring primarily for adult and geriatric patients in a setting where approximately 75 percent of patients are Spanish speaking; translators and Spanish-speaking medical assistants are available for support. Candidates must have recent locum experience, active California licensure, current DEA and furnishing license, and board certification in Geriatric Medicine or Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive medical care for adult and geriatric patients
  • Deliver services primarily to a Spanish-speaking patient population, utilizing translators and Spanish-speaking medical assistants as needed
  • Perform patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and manage chronic and acute health conditions within the scope of geriatric medicine
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure continuity and quality of care
  • Adhere to all clinical protocols and compliance requirements
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
  • Additional Information

  • Locum tenens experience required
  • Recent experience in geriatrics or adult health is essential; urgent care, internal medicine, or pediatrics experience will not be accepted
  • Active California license, DEA, and furnishing license required
  • Board certification in Geriatric Medicine or Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC) required
  • FQHC, rural health, or Indian Health Service experience preferred
  • Flexibility with scheduling is highly valued; preference given to candidates without specific day-off requirements
