This position is an integral part of our finance department, responsible for all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting. The successful candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting, specifically in the engineering or related industry, with a focus on Aerospace and Aviation. Job Details

Responsibilities :

As the Permanent Director of Tax, you will :

  • Lead and manage the company's tax planning, compliance, and reporting functions.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of all tax returns and related reports.
  • Provide expert guidance on tax implications of business decisions, including mergers and acquisitions, new product development, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Work closely with external auditors and tax consultants to manage audits and examinations.
  • Monitor and analyze proposed and enacted tax legislation to determine financial impact on the company.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide tax advice and support on business matters.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations, industry trends, and best practices.

    • Qualifications :

    The ideal candidate for the Director of Tax position will have :

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An active CPA is REQUIRED!
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive tax experience, preferably in the engineering industry with a focus on Aerospace and Aviation.
  • Proven experience with FIN 48 and tax accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to non-tax professionals.
  • Proficiency with tax software and other relevant technology.
