Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a current CA license, ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications for a float pool assignment requiring flexibility with weekends and holidays.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in an acute care hospital ICU within the Float Pool (Pod A)
  • Patient ratios are 1 : 2 in the ICU
  • Day shifts are scheduled as 3x12 hours from 7 : 00 to 19 : 30
  • Floating required within like units and to affiliated hospitals as needed
  • Epic is used for charting
  • Required to work at least every other weekend, with weekends likely exceeding this based on unit need
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Scrub color for RNs is royal blue
  • Travelers are expected to float to all facilities within the health system as needed
  • Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
  • Block scheduling requests accommodated at manager discretion
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Returning former permanent staff are eligible after a 3-month break and must be outside the local radius
  • Free parking is available on site
  • Time off requests must be submitted upfront and excessive requests may delay or impact consideration
  • Pre-start modules required, typically 16 hours of self-reported online training
  • Assignments may be called off once per two-week pay period

  • Active CA RN license in hand (no temporary licenses accepted)
  • Minimum of 1 year recent ICU RN experience required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required
  • Experience with Epic EMR required
  • Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years required for consideration
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered for standard travel rates
  • Pending RN licenses not accepted
  • Must commit to working at least 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
