Senior Director GPO Operations

What you will be doing :

The Senior Director of GPO Operations will serve as the COO of the joint venture and is responsible for leading business process optimization to meet operational, commercial, and financial key performance indicators. The Director engages in complex negotiation meetings with suppliers, ensures standardization of processes, shares subject matter expertise, and develops colleagues and / or direct reports.

The position will be dedicated to Texas Health Supply Chain Services (THSCS), a joint venture between Premier and Texas Health Resources. The Director will work onsite as required at THSCS in Arlington, TX.

Key Responsibilities

Business Leadership- 40%

Serve as a designated officer for THSCS

Contribute to strategic, operational, and commercial planning

Willingness to travel and present to current and prospective members

Provide direction on staffing and resource requirements

Serve as liaison between Premier and THSCS

Collaborate with Premier colleagues from multiple business units

Operational Expertise - 30%

Ensure process deliverable standardization

Implement and monitor control policies and procedures for OnHand and Premier resources

Identify and achieve key performance indicators

Sourcing - 30%

Align with OnHand leadership to execute sourcing strategy and Request For Proposal (RFP) market requirements; aggregates, analyzes, and presents RFP results to internal teams

Participate in the negotiation of optimum contract pricing, terms, and conditions

Work with OnHand leadership to implement a competitive sourcing process including :

Development of sourcing strategy appropriate to each category

Collaborating with committees to validate strategy and collect RFP requirements

Implementation and execution of RFPs

Negotiation of terms and conditions with supplier representatives, including legal staff as needed

Collaboration with legal staff to draft the final negotiated contract terms, conditions and exhibits for each contract proposal

Required Qualifications

Work Experience :

Years of Applicable Experience - 10 or more years

Education : Bachelors (Required)

Skills :

Excellent project management skills and ability to meet deadlines

Ability to execute initiatives independently without oversight

Ability to indirectly influence various stakeholders across organizations

Thorough knowledge of GPO operations, RFP process and related tasks

Effective communication skills to address multiple audiences both verbally & in writing

Ability to prioritize among various tasks / projects and to effectively use resources

Effective staff selection, development and retention through coaching and mentoring

Ability to provide team leadership and manage matrix resources

Experience developing and maintaining a budget and execute forecasting

Ability to develop informative and concise executive presentations and summary reports

Adept at identifying potential risks and solutions to ensure success

Ability to develop and implement effective quality control procedures

Experience :

National GPO and account management proficiency

Experience presenting to an executive board of directors

Ability to define and execute business development plans

Project and direct team leadership

Healthcare industry related contract negotiation experience

Experience presenting to and working with C-Suite healthcare leadership

Education : Bachelors (Required)

Working Conditions : Remote

Travel Requirements : Travel 41-60% within the US

Physical Demands : Sedentary : Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Premier's compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is $141,000 - $234,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills / experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
