Estimated annual base pay : $90,560 (minimum) - $113,200 (midpoint) - $135,840 (maximum)

  • Are You Ready to Make Your Mark? This position reports directly to the Quality leader and is responsible for providing a moderate to high level of customer and organizational support for quality & regulatory requirements, compliance, and system and process improvements. support and mentoring to the other quality engineers. This positionrequires minimal supervision with a high level of independent work.Drives the use of Six Sigma principles, methods and tools.

    What You Will Be Doing :

  • Accountable for ensuring the robustness of root cause analysis and problem solving utilizing Six Sigma methodology and Woodward Quality Management System processes.
  • Drives continuous improvement across the operation (i.e. defines improvement goals, establishes accountability through SQDRC metrics, uses Lean / Six Sigma tools and techniques to continually improve processes and business results, and establishes a mindset within operations to document and control processes; promotes safety and housekeeping; uses facilitative leadership).
  • Acts as the customer liaison / advocate for Woodward compliance to customer quality requirements and customer satisfaction relative to quality of products and services.
  • May be accountable for customer accounts, along with resolving complex issues. Drives resolution to systemic issues within the organization.
  • Performs quality related activities associated with the nonconforming material control process.
  • Develops procedures and work instructions that are required per the Quality Management System.Manages the review and approval of QMS documents.
  • Assembles and monitors appropriate company / customer metrics andproposes improvements for the performance of Quality. May analyze the metrics and provide recommendations based on the results.
  • Leads advance quality planning processes. Examples include Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) / First Article Inspection (FAI), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) processes. (May be performed by CQE at some sites.)
  • Ensures accuracy of documents and interfaces with customer for required validation documentation to customer quality requirements such as APQP, PPAP, ISIR, etc.
  • Leads internal / external audits. Provides mentoring to functional owners for RCCA on findings
  • Monitors and reports on company / customer score cards. Leads action, as appropriate.
  • Monitors and drives improvements to company / customer quality metrics throughout Woodward.
  • What We Are Looking For :

  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100 requirements and their intent to ensure compliance of the Quality Management System. Demonstrates ability to capture important data, analyze data and report appropriate conclusions : able to identify and address the critical few from the trivial many.
  • Communicates and operates effectively within Woodward's organizational structure. Helpsto improveinformation systems, processes and products.
  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge of and ability to drive Root Cause Corrective Action concepts / processes, including the 8D process to eliminate cause(s) in internal processes, or external processes when necessary.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills (including presentations). Writes standard technical reports. Able to manage multiple tasks with varying priorities in a fast paced work environment.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively lead teams across multiple functional areas, and work with various levels within the organization, customers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrates thoroughunderstandingof interpretation ofengineering specifications, mechanical drawings, and / or electrical schematics, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge and the utilization ofSix Sigma principles, tools and methodology. Leads Six Sigma principles throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge of APQP, the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and / or First Article Inspection (FAI) processes. Demonstrates a strong knowledge of process capability concepts, including but not limited to Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of non-conforming material control and material disposition processes.
  • Ability to drive and implement activities to meet customer quality expectations. Ability to identify and execute quality / customer focus strategy for customer accounts. Builds relationships at various levels / functions within the customer.
  • Education :

  • UNITED STATES\US - Bachelor's Degree in Sciences (BS)
  • Experience :

  • Minimum 5 years of quality, engineering, machine shop, assembly or functional testing experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of Quality Management Systems experience, including experience related to document management, internal and / or external audits, nonconforming material control, and root cause and corrective action processes, is required.
  • Demonstrates strong computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point. Knowledge of MS Project and Visio a plus.
  • License & Certifications :

  • Lead auditor certification-Preferred
  • Green Belt or Black Belt certified (or equivalent CI / RCCA certification)-Preferred
