seeking our Facilities Engineering Operations Manager to support our partnership at Greenwich Academy , a renowned K-12 independent school in Greenwich, CT. Our leader will have Custodial Operations background and experience with Building Automation Systems and MEP Maintenance. This is a high-visibility leadership role, managing the second shift, typically ~2 : 00pm-10 : 00pm Monday through Friday. Our manager will partner with and be second in responsibility to our Facilities Director to deliver best-in-class integrated facilities management (IFM) services while aligning with the Academys mission of excellence and care for its students, faculty, and historic campus.
Our ideal candidate brings strong Custodial and Maintenance leadership experience , including hands-on technical knowledge, team development skills, and a passion for maintaining beautiful, safe, and high-performing educational environments.
What You'll Do :
- Lead and mentor our 2nd shift ~2 : 00pm-10 : 00pm team of custodial and skilled trades teams to ensure a well-maintained and welcoming campus environment
- Provide leadership and direction for the operation when the Director is away
- Foster strong relationships with school leadership and faculty by listening closely, communicating proactively, and delivering responsive service
- Oversee all aspects of facility operations, including custodial services preventive and predictive maintenance
- Leverage your knowledge of Building Automation Systems (Trane preferred) to troubleshoot issues and continuously improve performance
- Collaborate with campus stakeholders to support events, seasonal needs, and long-term planning initiatives

Responsible for a single scope of work in hard services area. 3rd in command, Supervises the account as the #2 manager and has full responsibility including supervision of other managers. Responsible for entire account when the Director of Facilities Ops is not present. In Univ. same as above as well as size and scope are less than an Ops 2.Key Duties :
Manage one other manager typically, in account with smaller volume and FTE count, Manage by walking around, Staffs, trains, and is responsible for employee developmentTechnical client interfacePayroll and time mgmt. of frontline staffOversees and coordinates projectsManages work orders / CMMSManages mechanicals (i.e. HVAC)Manages financialsResponsible for client relations / engagementManages QA and Safety.Basic Qualifications & Requirements
