DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clinical Dietitian, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of residents at the Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home. Your work will involve coordinating, inspecting, and evaluating the therapeutic diet program in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). You will be responsible for planning and organizing the nutritional care of all individuals at the facility, including those on prescribed diets, in order to promote a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, you will be involved in creating and modifying menu plans and nutritional care plans, as well as conducting nutritional assessments and providing diet counseling. Other duties of the position involve making recommendations for food purchasing, finance, and quality assurance. In this role, you will have an opportunity to utilize your high level of initiative and independent judgement. Your performance will be reviewed by the Director of Dietetic Services through conference, reports, and overall effectiveness evaluations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

Full-time employment, 75 hours biweekly
Work hours are 6 : 00 AM to 2 : 00 PM, 7 : 30 AM to 3 : 30 PM, and 10 : 00 AM to 6 : 00 PM; Monday - Friday, no weekends or holidays; with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework : You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary : In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirement :

You must possess c ertification as a Registered Dietitian as defined by the Commission on Registration of the American Dietetic Association; or proof of eligibility for such certification.

Other Requirements :

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements :

You must pass a background investigation.

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
