What You'll Do At Monteith

  • Review and analyze construction documents, drawings, and specifications to identify potential issues
  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive estimates
  • Coordinate with trade partners to obtain competitive pricing and scope clarifications
  • Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs while maintaining quality standards
  • Develop project schedules and phasing plans during the preconstruction phase
  • Participate in client meetings to present preconstruction deliverables and address questions
  • Support the transition from preconstruction to field operations once projects are awarded
  • Research new construction methods, materials, and technologies to improve efficiency
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate potential construction challenges
  • Collaborate with estimating teams to develop accurate project budgets and cost analyses

Experience You Should Have

  • 3-5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating or preconstruction
  • Proficiency in takeoff and estimating software (On-Screen Takeoff, BlueBeam, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
  • Experience with scheduling software and creating construction schedules
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field

    70,000 - 95,000 USD per year (Monteith Wilmington)
