The Driver / Cargo Dispatcher will share a combination of responsibilities between both driver and cargo dispatcher positions. The D.C.D will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities communicating with various stakeholders and ensuring the efficient movement of clinical trial shipments from origin to destination.
The D.C.D will ensure cargo is in proper condition as regulated by company standards follow regulations stated by TSA and transport the cargo to the airport or any assigned destination. The D.C.D will also enter shipping information on SAP and or spreadsheets keep records organized as well as monitor shipments.
Job Purpose
Communicate with OCASA drivers to ensure timely delivery and pickup.
Maintain accurate records of shipments including delivery times quantities and destinations.
Enter shipping information into an Excel / and SAP system.
Track delivery progress of shipments. Monitor Processes Materials - Monitoring and reviewing information from materials events or the environment to detect or assess problems.
Analyze Data and Identify Objects Actions and Events Identifying the underlying principles reasons or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
Identifying information by categorizing estimating recognizing differences or similarities and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
Performing Administrative Activities Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files.
Track shipments and update relevant parties on delivery status.
Immediately inform supervisor of any problem with loading and / or shipping.
Follow the rules and regulations issued by TSA and airport administration.
Check the physical condition of the cargo upon receipt.
Load transport and deliver biological or regular cargo to customers or airlines in a safe and timely manner.
Assist as appropriate in loading and unloading shipments from vehicles.
Prepare and package bio load as required.
Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards.
Keep the vehicle in optimal condition.
Collaborate with other departments such as warehouse and inventory management to ensure seamless operations.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries concerns and requests in a professional manner.
Perform additional activities as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
Fast typing skills are strongly preferred.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
Must be proactive and actively provide Follow ups.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Must be Bilingual : English & Spanish
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
High school degree or equivalent Required.
Must have a clean driving record.
Valid and clear drivers License required. CDL not required.
Must possess Knowledge of scanners barcodes tracking numbers order numbers.
Must be able to bend and / or lift boxes that weigh up to 50 pounds.
Must have knowledge and be able to use Excel Word etc.
