Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Mayfield, KY 42066 (Western Kentucky nursing jobs)

Unit : Medical / Surgical Unit (65 beds)

Assignment Type : Travel RN Contract

Start Date : November 30, 2025

End Date : March 1, 2026

Duration : 13-week travel assignment

Shift : 12-Hour Nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1680-$1800

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Float Requirement : May float to similar medical-surgical units

Electronic Health Record : Meditech

Dress Code : Any color scrubs (no hoodies or words other than JPMC)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Kentucky or compact state)

BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)

CPI, HWC, or MAB certification

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience

Experience with adult and geriatric patient care in a clinical setting

Strong communication and compassionate patient care skills

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 65-bed medical-surgical unit

Manage patient assignments with ratios up to 1 : 8, supported by Patient Care Assistants (PCAs)

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Meditech EHR

Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes

Provide care for common diagnoses including COPD, post-operative joints, and diabetes

Maintain a safe, supportive, and compliant environment for patients and staff

Follow hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards
