Description :

The Surgical Technician position prepares the operating room.

This includes setting up the sterile field and preparing surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions.

During surgery, this role passes instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon.

The Surgical Technician also prepares and manages surgical equipment, the sterile field, and specimens.

Essential job duties include maintaining a clean and sterile surgical environment.

The role involves providing the surgeon with appropriate instrumentation and equipment.

Assistance is provided to the surgeon during procedures.

Preparing the operating room for surgery is a key responsibility.

The Surgical Technician keeps records of the use of the steam sterilizer.

Initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts are performed with the circulator.

Keeping the suture carts organized and monitoring expiration dates is necessary.

The Surgical Technician assists team members with gowning and gloving.

Assistance with patient positioning pre-operatively and transporting patients is required.

Stocking adequate supplies for surgery is essential.

Additional duties may be performed as requested.
