Cardiology Physician

About the Role : Join this outstanding academic Cardiology department. They are seeking a full-time General Cardiologist to join our academic clinical faculty. This position arises as our current general cardiologist transitions to an interventional fellowship in June 2025. Practice Setting : Clinical Service Outpatient cardiology clinic : up to 5 half day sessions per week Inpatient consult service : one-week blocks ( 10 weeks / year), covering a single hospital; weekend coverage only during inpatient rotations Call schedule : fellows handle overnight pages; attendings rarely take overnight calls Academic Service : Participate in fellow teaching : Wednesday morning fellow conference, Tuesday cath conference, monthly Cardio Grand Rounds Provide 2-3 half days per week for reading / study and procedural training (TEE scheduling) Mentor 9 cardiology fellows (3 per class) Compensation & Comprehensive Benefits Competitive base salary and higher earning potential $10,000 sign-on and relocation assistance Benefits include $3,000 CME allowance, 5 weeks PTO, 13 holidays, and full health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits Student loan forgiveness through the State PSLF program and covered medical license & DEA renewal Location Perks Springfield, IL, the capital of Illinois, offers a blend of urban and rural living Recreational opportunities include parks, sports facilities, and cultural events Enjoy a strong educational environment, family-friendly activities, and a thriving arts scene
