Job descriptionCertified by the Department of Education as a Special Education Teacher Willingness to pursue emergency certification as needed Strong ability to develop and implement IEP goals and objectives Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with parents, staff, and students Assess student functioning through observations, testing, and collaboration with colleagues Develop weekly individualized lesson plans aligned with IEP goals Train and supervise teacher assistants in both academic and physical classroom tasks Integrate therapies (PT, OT, speech, nutrition, behavior plans) into the classroom to support student growth Provide inclusive settings such as community-based vocational programming and collaborative opportunities with peers without disabilities Maintain daily communication with parents and caregivers about student progress Experience developing community-based learning opportunities Familiarity with alternate assessments and state standards Ability to foster meaningful family engagement through home / school connections Strong organizational skills to manage reporting, progress notes, and evaluations Collaborative mindset with a passion for creating inclusive, student-focused learning environments
