We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinician to join a trauma-informed, community-based program that has been serving youth, adults, and families for over 185 years. This position involves providing direct clinical services in a residential / group home setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in therapy with at-risk populations, particularly youth, and a passion for creating meaningful change through individualized treatment planning and support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual, family, and group therapy (weekly or bi-weekly as appropriate)
Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for all assigned clients
Facilitate therapeutic groups in areas such as :
Anger Management
Social Skills
Substance Abuse Education
Healthy Relationships / Sexuality Education
Participate in intake, pre-placement interviews, treatment team meetings, and school-related meetings (CSE / IEP)
Offer crisis intervention and mediation on an as-needed basis
Coordinate care with psychiatrists, case coordinators, and house managers
Complete documentation, treatment plans, and progress notes in a timely and compliant manner
Maintain regular communication with family / guardians around clinical matters
Provide consultation, on-call support, and contribute to departmental planning
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Rehabilitation, or related field
Valid NYS licensure or license-eligible
Minimum 1–2 years' experience working with at-risk youth and families
Strong clinical judgment, documentation, and communication skills
Proficient in electronic health records and billing systems
Valid NYS driver's license required
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to work a flexible 40+ hour week
Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs and performing physical interventions (restraints, TCI-certified)
Ability to stand / run for moderate periods of time
Must be comfortable working in a culturally diverse setting
