The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) leads all advertising revenue growth and customer relationship strategy across all Georges Media markets, including Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Acadiana, Shreveport-Bossier, St. Tammany, and regional weeklies. This is a hands-on, in-market role, working directly with sales representatives and managers to coach, develop, and execute high-performance sales activity. The CRO drives three core areas:
- Sales leadership, management, and performance
- Client growth and advertising strategy
- Community, industry, and business leadership
This role partners closely with digital strategy, product, marketing, finance, news, and executive leadership to expand market share, improve customer experience, and deliver high-value advertising solutions.
Primary Responsibilities & Essential Duties
Sales Leadership & Management (Priority Focus)
- Provide hands-on, daily sales leadership—working directly with reps and managers in the field to drive performance, improve execution, and support high-value client activity.
- Implement and oversee all core sales management processes, including pipeline development, forecasting, account planning, and proposal strategy.
- Ensure strong adoption of a consistent, disciplined sales process with defined best practices, behaviors, and accountability standards.
- Recruit, coach, motivate, and develop a high-performing, digitally strong sales organization across all markets.
- Monitor revenue pipelines and performance metrics; adjust strategy to meet or exceed growth targets.
- Establish clear accountability through metrics, ensuring compensation structures align with expectations and performance.
Advertising Strategy & Client Growth
- Analyze, plan, and execute strategies that drive advertising revenue growth across all markets and platforms.
- Lead the creation and execution of multi-market revenue strategies with clear priorities and tight alignment across markets.
- Build and strengthen senior-level client relationships, particularly at the C-suite level.
- Prospect, pitch, and close new high-value clients across Louisiana.
- Promote a culture of innovation, creative advertising solutions, and exceptional client service.
- Develop standardized outreach and communication strategies across sales, marketing, and client management teams.
- Use market research, customer insights, and competitive analysis to shape advertising strategy and product development.
Community & Business Leadership
- Represent Georges Media as a senior leader in business, civic, and community settings.
- Attend and support high-impact client events and community engagements across the state.
- Expand new sales channels, partner programs, and third-party reseller opportunities.
Operational & Cross-Functional Responsibilities
- Work with finance to manage revenue budgets, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Partner with digital, marketing, and product teams to strengthen digital revenue performance and enhance customer experience.
- Foster a “lean startup” culture of experimentation, rapid iteration, and continuous learning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of five years of successful sales leadership experience.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing sales teams in a hands-on environment.
- Multi-market sales leadership experience
- Strong strategic planning, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing revenue budgets and financial performance.
- Deep expertise in multi-platform advertising, with strong digital capability.
- Thorough understanding of sales processes, marketing channels, and ROI-based advertising strategy
