To directly oversee the operations of several departments which provide mission services and facilitate effective functioning of the entire operations segment of Young Life.

YL College Staff Associate

Summary :

Through both formal training and field ministry experience, learn to provide college and university students the opportunity to meet Jesus Christ, grow in their relationship with Him and use their talents to serve Jesus in this world.

Essential Duties :

Spiritual Development - "Following Jesus" includes prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health and church relationships.

• Commit to understanding God's Word and practicing spiritual disciplines including retreat and reflection times.
• Actively participate in a church community and the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
• Assist in leading the area and individuals in spiritual development and prayer.
• Help ensure that all Young Life ministry in the area is designed and carried out with a dependence on prayer that takes place out of the overflow of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Leadership Development - "Equipping leaders, committee and staff" includes key volunteer care, recruiting, team building and training, supervision and vision casting.

Resource Development - "Fueling the ministry" includes events, major donor care, public relations (branding) and TDS team.

Direct Ministry - "Proclaiming and discipling" includes contact work, club, Campaigners-i.e. small group ministry, camp.

Ministry Support - "Taking care of business" includes accounting, administration, communication (internal), data management and strategic plan.

We have become an engine for the increase of multi-ethnic ministry in the city of Houston. Our mission is to make transformative disciples of college students for Jesus Christ of all tongues, tribes, and nations that they may take the Gospel from Houston to the ends of the Earth. Our vision is to meet college students in Houston of all backgrounds in their present reality in hopes to impact their eternal future in Christ through REACHING the furthest out, BUILDING them up in a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus, and LAUNCHING them out as missionaries into the neighboring communities, the work force, and beyond.

You'll have the opportunity to lead, empower, and grow a team of volunteers and staff. In our area we have 4 full-time staff, 13 student staff, and over 40 college aged leaders at each school. Depending on the candidate will determine your position title and which university you will be working at. 90% of this job is uninterrupted time with college students in THEIR world : outreach, discipleship, and vision casting.
