We are seeking an Project Engineer with hotel and restaurant construction / renovation experience to join our Torrance-based team.

Responsibilities

Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and trade / craft persons.

Implement pre-construction strategic plan.

Obtain and maintain construction permits, manage fee payments.

Develop and maintain logs as required by Project Manager and MBI policies.

Manage, create, distribute, and file records of certain contract documents.

Establish procedures for electronic documents, including RFIs and correspondence.

Manage, record, and file testing and inspection processes.

Manage submittals; ensure material deliveries align with project schedule.

Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders; update as-built construction documents.

Build relationships across diverse backgrounds; lead and coach team members effectively.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred

Minimum two years of related experience in hotel and restaurant construction / renovation projects.

Project management certification is preferred

Detail-oriented to manage multiple project tasks.

Basic understanding of construction legal requirements and business practices.

Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Intermediate Procore, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and web application skills.

Active listening and effective communication; openness to diverse feedback.

Ability to travel to project sites on occasion.

Proximity to office for ease of commutes to regular workplace assignment.
