Job description

Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you've come to the right place!

E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system that will fundamentally change the design, economics, manufacturing and service deliveryassociated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems.

We're intentional, we're unapologetically curious and we're 100% committed to innovate space-based communications and deliver actionable intelligence that will expand global economies, protect space and our planet and enhance our overall quality of life.

What is the role?

We are building out a new manufacturing facility in Arlington, TX and need a hands-on leader to shape, implement, and oversee our Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), Facilities, and Security programs across our Arlington and Saratoga sites, with additional oversight of temporary U.S. sites and coordination with international locations. This role will be pivotal in ensuring compliance with federal contractor obligations, OSHA / state regulations, and U.S. export control requirements, while also driving a pragmatic, safety-first culture. The EH&S, Facilities & Security Manager will be a senior standalone role reporting to the executive team. This person will act as the company's subject matter expert, working closely with leadership, operations, manufacturing, engineering, IT, procurement, trade compliance, and international POCs to ensure our sites are safe, secure, compliant, and scalable as we grow.

This is an opportunity to help build a world-class manufacturing capability from the ground up in a highly regulated and fast-growing industry. You'll shape the systems that keep our people safe, our sites secure, and our business compliant, all while working across a wide variety of challenges every day.

What you will do

  • Immediate Priorities (First 90 Days)
  • Audit the current state of EH&S, facilities, and security at both TX and CA sites, identifying risks, gaps, and required mitigations.
  • Support setup and fit-out of the new Arlington manufacturing building, including large machinery installation, vendor oversight, and stakeholder coordination. Implement immediate EH&S training programs and ensure baseline compliance with OSHA and state requirements. Verify operator certifications (e.g., forklifts) and implement any required training or retraining.
  • Develop and deliver short-term mitigation plans for critical risks (e.g., chemicals, PPE, ergonomics, machine safety).
  • Establish working relationships with local regulators, landlords, and emergency response agencies.
  • Ongoing Responsibilities Environmental Health & Safety
  • Develop, implement, and enforce EH&S policies and programs that meet or exceed OSHA, Cal / OSHA, and Texas state requirements.
  • Lead training, audits, inspections, and incident investigations; liaise with OSHA, state agencies, workers' compensation carriers, and insurers.
  • Ensure appropriate certifications and training are in place (e.g., forklift operations, PPE use, chemical handling, lockout / tagout, emergency response). Oversee safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials; ensure compliance with EPA, DOT, and local environmental regulations.
  • Manage emergency preparedness and business continuity planning, including weather events, chemical spills, fire, and workplace violence.
  • Facilities
  • Manage facility operations for TX and CA sites, including lease administration, vendor management, preventive maintenance, and space planning.
  • Coordinate with landlords and contractors on repairs, fit-outs, and disputes.
  • Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams on machine moves, installations, and infrastructure readiness.
  • Support setup and management of temporary sites across the U.S. (short- or long-term).
  • Coordinate with global POCs in France, UK, and Germany on lease / building needs, working with Legal to ensure alignment with contracts and compliance.
  • Develop capital project and facilities planning recommendations for leadership.
  • Oversee contractor and vendor safety compliance, including site-specific orientations and adherence to company safety / security protocols.
  • Security
  • Oversee physical security programs, including access control, badging, CCTV, and visitor management.
  • Coordinate with IT on CMMC readiness, export control requirements, and potential NISPOM obligations as contracts evolve. Develop and maintain site security plans and protocols; liaise with external security vendors as needed.
  • Support future clearance-related activities (e.g., DCSA inspections, classified space build-out).
  • Compliance & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Act as the primary EH&S, Facilities, and Security consultant to executive leadership and stakeholders, translating regulations into pragmatic solutions.
  • Support trade compliance, procurement, manufacturing, and engineering teams with expert guidance.
  • Track and report on relevant regulations (FAR / DFARS, NIST 800-171, ITAR / EAR).
  • Partner with HR to support safety culture, training, and new employee orientation. Collaborate with international site POCs and Legal on facilities-related matters, ensuring consistency across geographies.

Why you\'re the right candidate

  • 7–10+ years of experience in EH&S, facilities, and / or security management within aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, Cal / OSHA, Texas state regs, EPA, and other relevant EH&S requirements.
  • Experience with hazardous materials, large-scale machinery, building fit-out, and emergency response planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and influence without direct authority.
  • Hands-on, pragmatic mindset — comfortable rolling up sleeves and working directly with teams on the floor.
  • U.S. Person status required; must be able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
  • Ability to travel as-needed between TX, CA, and other U.S. sites
  • Additional experience we\'d like to see

  • Prior success in early-stage / growth environments.
  • $0 - $0 a year
