CNA / Monitor Tech : This 0.6 FTE / Part-time position is scheduled to work 12-HR day shifts and is AFSCME represented.
Compensation : Non-exempt $23.64 / HR - $34.16 / HR

Job Summary
Provides direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the supervision of a registered nurse. Typical duties include assisting patients with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment of care, preparing patients for surgery, close observation of confused patients, transportation, maintenance of equipment and supplies, clerical tasks, and customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists RNs and other healthcare providers in implementing the plan of care by performing common procedures and tasks as directed and documenting appropriately.Performs patient care duties within the nursing assistant scope of practice under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.Assists patients in performing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) included but not limited to : ambulation, dressing, hygiene, eating, and essential tasks of daily living with compassion and ensuring privacy and independence to the level the patient is capable.Observes, documents, and appropriately reports changes in patient activity and / or symptoms such as vital signs, respiration, discomfort, intake, output, weight, mental changes, and bleeding.Anticipates patient care needs. Conducts patient rounding in accordance with standards. Answers patient call lights : determines nature of problem and responds within scope and / or obtains appropriate resources.Assists with or prepares patient for transport including moving patient to and from bed to gurney or wheelchair. Transports patients, patient belongings, and valuables, supplies, equipment, and specimens to and from various locations. Follows safe patient handling protocols.Provides administrative and technical support in the operation of the unit. Performs clerical duties including but not limited to receiving admitted patients, initiating patient files, transfers and expirations, preparing hospital statistical records. May process daily charges and charge corrections.Serves as a patient advocate. Exercises discretion in the management of patient information and assures strict patient confidentiality.Responds to emergency situations in a calm and supportive manner. Maintains composure and professional demeanor in stressful situations.Monitors electrocardiography according to established standards. Recognizes cardiac arrhythmias, documents / records on EKG monitor strips, and notifies the appropriate RN of arrhythmias and rhythm changes.Other duties as assigned.Required Education and Experience
One (1) year of nursing assistant experience, acute care experience preferred.One (1) year of clerical and customer service experience in a healthcare environment.Required Licenses Certifications and / or Registrations
Current Nursing Assistant-Certified (NA-C) license in the state of Washington.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within 180 days of hire.Monitor Tech certification required within 3 months of hire for assignments including monitor technician duties.Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
