Tax Manager, International Tax Services
Job Summary : An International Tax Manager advises multinational clients in a variety of industries on the tax implications of their business objectives, recommending alternate courses of action, and identifying methods of complying with tax regulations. This role involves managing international tax consulting projects, advising on tax planning, research, and compliance, and serving as a mentor and career advisor.
Job Duties :
- Tax Consulting : Assists clients in developing ideas, structures, and transactions with international focus; interprets tax laws to maximize client benefits; coordinates with foreign BDO offices.
- Tax Specialization : Applies in-depth understanding of international tax issues; organizes training sessions; develops knowledge and networks in foreign jurisdictions.
- Research : Identifies complex situations requiring research; analyzes facts and composes detailed reports; prepares written tax advice.
- Tax Compliance : Assists in managing client engagements; reviews international aspects of U.S. tax reporting; applies knowledge of U.S. tax compliance.
- Tax Controversy : Represents clients before the IRS on contested issues with guidance from senior professionals.
- ASC 740-10 : Applies standards and firm policies; assists in reviewing international tax provisions; trains others.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Supervises the workload of tax associates; reviews work product; provides technical development.Delivers performance feedback; completes evaluations; acts as mentor.Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business related major preferred; Juris Doctorate, LLM and / or MST / MBT preferred.Experience : Four or more years in corporate tax, international tax, or legal professional services; experience in international tax required; prior experience supervising tax professionals preferred.License / Certifications : CPA certification, Attorney, or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) required.Software : Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis, and / or Westlaw preferred.Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to communicate complex technical items; superior analytical and research skills; strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task; ability to work in a deadline-driven environment; ability to manage a team of tax professionals; build and maintain relationships; ability to encourage team environment; executive presence; ability to interact with professionals at all levels; advanced knowledge of tax filing forms and standards.Salary : Individual salaries are determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. National Range : $79,800 - $168,000. Maryland Range : $79,800 - $168,000. NYC / Long Island / Westchester Range : $79,800 - $168,000. Washington DC Range : $79,800 - $168,000.
