About the Role
Churchill is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager to join our team on-site in Reno, Nevada , supporting a major data center program for a Fortune 100 technology client. This role is positioned within the client’s dedicated Program Management Office and is responsible for managing all aspects of cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting across a portfolio of high-value data center infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in cost control and reporting, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead all cost management activities for data center projects, including cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain detailed cost control procedures aligned with client and Churchill standards.
- Produce program-level cost reports, cash flows, and variance analyses with actionable insights.
- Manage and validate contractor cost submissions, change orders, and payment applications.
- Support procurement and contract management processes to ensure cost efficiency and risk mitigation.
- Oversee project budget tracking, cost coding, and data accuracy within client-specific systems.
- Identify cost risks and opportunities, ensuring appropriate contingency planning.
- Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize project performance.
- Deliver monthly cost summaries and executive-level reporting.
- Mentor junior cost engineers and contribute to Churchill’s internal process improvement.
- Maintain strong relationships with client teams, vendors, and internal Churchill leadership.
Experience & Qualifications
Fluent in English (written and verbal).Right to work in the United States.Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).15+ years of construction industry experience , with significant focus on cost management for data centers or mission-critical facilities .Experience managing large capital programs or working within a client-side PMO.Strong technical proficiency in cost reporting, forecasting, procurement, and contract administration .Advanced skills in Google Sheets (formulas, pivot tables, and basic scripting).Proven ability to develop and implement cost management frameworks.
