Summary : Installs, repairs and maintains equipment, production machines, physical structures, and components of industrial machinery by performing the essential duties and responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : The below list reflects management's assignment of essential functions. Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time.

• Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair.
• Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on metal stock surfaces.
• Dismantles machines or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part(s).
• Replaces defective part with new part or repairs or reproduces part from various kinds of metal stock.
• Assembles and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction.
• Maintains and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly stalled machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
• Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
• Diagnoses malfunction of, repairs, and installs apparatuses such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damages or broken wires and cables.
• Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, production, and / or Engineering.
• Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
• Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components.
• Programs, installs, or repairs automated machinery, such as robots, to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs.
• Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
• Removes and replaces worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system.
• Locates damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machine, and measures, cuts, threads, and installs new pipe
