Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Perioperative RN for an Operating Room position requiring a UT or compact RN license, BLS, and ACLS certification.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in a Level 4 trauma hospital operating room
  • Work schedule is weekdays, Monday through Friday, 5x8-hour day shifts
  • Requires an average of 7-9 days of rotating on-call duty per month, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Care for patients before, during, and after surgical operations and procedures
  • Must be able to respond to the hospital within 20 minutes when on call
  • Handles a variety of cases including general, orthopedic, and OB (including C-sections) cases
  • Assists with trauma cases in the emergency room
  • May work independently as the sole OR nurse in house during emergency call cases
  • Blue scrubs are preferred
  • Participate as an essential team member providing perioperative care
  • Supportive team environment with a skilled group of healthcare providers
  • Pre-employment drug test and background check are required
  • Holiday coverage is required in the rotation
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Work environment offers opportunities to expand surgical nursing skills

  • Current, unencumbered RN license in Utah or a compact state
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Current ACLS certification or ability to obtain within three months
  • Excellent knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
  • Solid understanding of patient safety and precautions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to function well under stress
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new skills
  • Physical and emotional stamina to respond to a variety of situations
