Performs a variety of skilled landscaping work in the maintenance and repair of County grounds and completes and maintains records associated with assigned work orders. This position also performs work in support of building maintenance as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Facilities Manager.

Essential Functions

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and moderate experience in landscaping maintenance, building maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Physical Requirements This work requires the regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking, speaking, hearing, use of hands and fingers, handling or feeling, frequently requires climbing, balancing, reaching with hands and arms, lifting and repetitive motions and occasionally requires sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting, smelling, pushing or pulling; work has standard vision requirements; work requires vocal communication to express or exchange ideas orally; work requires hearing to perceive information at normal spoken levels; work requires visually inspecting small defects and / or small parts, using measuring devices, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work frequently requires working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to outdoor weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electrical shock and occasionally requires wet, humid conditions (non-weather), working in high, precarious places, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, exposure to extreme cold (non-weather), exposure to extreme heat (non-weather), exposure to vibration, wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic). Special Requirements Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license.
