Registered Nurse- Operating Room (Permanent Role)

Location : Kansas City MO 64101
Shift : 12-hr Day / Night
Job Type : Permanent
Guaranteed Hours : (36 hours / week)
Compensation : Based on experience (Negotiable)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse to join our dynamic surgical team. This permanent role offers self / preferential scheduling posted four weeks in advance fostering predictability in your work-life balance. Our culture emphasizes mutual respect and collaboration among surgical staff along with continuous investment in equipment to ensure patient safety and workflow efficiency. On-call duties are required during select non-business hours.

Key Responsibilities :

Evaluate patients prior to surgery and provide patient / family education regarding the procedure and perioperative process.

Prepare patients for surgery including intravenous therapy preoperative medications and surgical site verification.

Participate in surgical site verification processes including briefing time-out debriefing and adherence to universal protocols.

Recognize and respond promptly to patient emergencies.

Deliver high-quality patient-centered care while integrating evidence-based practices and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaborate effectively as part of an interdisciplinary surgical team including providers surgeons and surgical technologists.

Consistently apply nursing process critical thinking scientific judgment technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care.

Assess patient condition monitor throughout the shift and document changes along with care provided.

Educate patients and families / caregivers on medical condition treatment and follow-up measures.

Required Qualifications :

Experience : Minimum of 1 year of recent OR RN experience (Scrub / Circulating).

Licensure : Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Education : Registered Nurse Diploma or equivalent.

Certifications : Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
