Quartz Manager Scope :
The Quartz Manager is the individual who identifies our customers' needs specific to hard surfacing and the larger business objectives that the vendor's products or product features will fulfill. This person articulates what success looks like for the products and rallies the sales team to turn that vision into a reality.
This person is focused on the future and dedicates their time to creating and implementing marketing plans. It is important that they can communicate effectively and lead the Company's sales team in implementing the company's and our vendor's marketing plans.
The Quartz Manager positions product pricing and develops our vendor's and our company's marketing strategies.
Finally, this person is responsible for training company employees and customers regarding product knowledge and sales skills needed for sales and business success.
Quartz Manager Job Description
We are looking for an experienced individual who is passionate about interior building products that customers love. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to roll out new products and grow existing products that deliver the company's vision and strategy. The ideal candidate will have experience with quartz surfacing or related products.
Responsibilities :
Guides product management actions, defines pricing strategy, and drives sales and marketing of quartz surfacing which is provided by the company's largest vendor.
Conduct market analysis by attending trade shows and visiting dealers and fabricators to identify trends and understand competitor positioning.
Collaborate with our Residential Specialists and Commercial Spec Team to drive vendor innovation and present design and sales strategies.
Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key vendor employees.
Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact.
Develop volume and share goals by product line, by branch, and track ongoing performance.
Responsible for managing overall product profitability, as well as defining and tracking sales results for new product launches.
Provides and manages training for customer service and territory managers.
Provides and manages training for fabricator base for single customer visits as well as Vendor Training events.
Works in conjunction with others in planning routine mailings, email blasts, customized literature and collateral deployment.
Drive product launches which include working with sales managers, Marketing Manager, customer service, and territory managers.
Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed.
Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on vendor's products as well as the company's service team.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing trade publications and establishing personal network with key vendor personnel and professional organizations.
Assess market conditions by comparing vendor's products to those of the competition. The competition can be described as a provider of similar products or substitute products that cannibalize our market share.
Assists management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts. Generates vendor's yearly business plan using Vendor's spreadsheets and planning with key vendor employees regarding their marketing and strategies for the following year.
Requirements :
An associate or bachelor's degree in building trades, business, communication, marketing, or management is preferred. Also, five years of proven work experience in building supply sales is essential. Experience working in the quartz surfacing market (or similar products) is preferred.
Ability to manage all aspects of a successful product launch throughout its lifecycle.
Ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to team members.
Must be able to learn and effectively utilize Company computer platforms and CRM.
Must have good knowledge of Microsoft software such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to delegate and prioritize effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done.
Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams.
Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish and maintain professional relationships.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to create and conduct presentations effectively. Such presentations would be communicated either in person or via virtual platforms.
Excellent organizational and time management skills are paramount.
Strong leadership skills with the desire and ability to get people to work as a team.
