Offit Kurman, a leading AmLaw200 law firm, is seeking a Second Level Collections Administrator to report to their General Counsel. This role manages collection matters transferred to the Office of General Counsel for potential legal action and involves analyzing and enhancing the efficiency of the collection process, exercising independent judgment in obtaining information, pursuing pre-suit collections, recommending legal actions, and overseeing the preparation of pleadings. Additionally, the Second Level Collections Administrator develops financial metrics, identifies and improves performance, and manages the calendar for Second Level Collections’ activities.
Responsibilities :
- Manage the collection process from the Collection Team handoff to payment, including obtaining necessary information, pursuing pre-suit collections, recommending legal actions, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of pleadings, and overseeing fee collection and post-judgment efforts.
- Track and report on collection process efficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Manage Second Level Collection’s calendar of statute of limitations and response deadlines.
- Oversee legal research and analysis related to collections efforts.
- Provide weekly and monthly reporting on Second Level Collections.
- Communicate and coordinate with attorneys and outside collections agencies handling the firm’s collection litigation.
- Undertake special projects, as assigned.
- Other duties, as assigned.

Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.Ability to analyze and synthesize information from various sources and present findings clearly.High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.Qualifying Experience :
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams) with considerable experience in Excel.Previous experience in and understanding of firm management preferred.Understanding of the collections process and ability to interface with administrative professionals and lawyers.Proven aptitude for engaging in difficult conversations.Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Physical Requirements : Involves prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. Tasks require strong visual abilities and effective written and oral communication skills.
Work Environment : Typical office environment, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
