Pay Rate : $98.77 - $111.73 / hr

Job Summary

The Civil Engineer will provide technical leadership and engineering expertise across all project phases, including scoping, design, cost estimation, scheduling, and construction support for Southern California Edison's Transmission, Substation, and Distribution facilities. The role involves coordination with internal and external teams, oversight of engineering consultants, and field engagement to ensure high-quality project delivery that aligns with safety and regulatory standards.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership : Lead civil engineering activities from project inception to completion, including design, scheduling, and construction support.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with internal groups-Project Management, Construction, Environmental, and Real Estate-as well as external agencies.
• Field Engagement : Conduct site walks and provide field engineering support (1-2 days per week as required).
• Contractor Oversight : Manage civil engineering consultants-develop scopes, review proposals, monitor progress, and ensure quality standards are met.
• Quality Assurance : Perform QA / QC for consultant deliverables, conduct peer reviews, manage purchase orders, and approve invoices.
• Permitting & Compliance : Obtain necessary permits and approvals from local, state, and federal agencies; ensure compliance throughout project execution.
• Project Management : Oversee project schedules, budgets, and technical scopes while maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.
• Safety : Promote and integrate safety principles in design, review, and on-site work activities.
