I&C Commissioning Engineer

The I&C Commissioning Engineer will support Instrumentation & Control Systems (I&CS) deliverables, including commissioning plans, procedures, test matrices, and temporary PLC configurations (Allen Bradley). This role covers the full project lifecycle—design, commissioning, and turnover—ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient system startup and operation.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Planning Phase

• Revise scoped drawings, subcontract packages, site-specific test plans, and detailed schedules.
• Prepare Advanced Work Packages (AWP), Instrument Inspection & Test Records (ITPs), and Test Matrices.
• Support engineering design through interface meetings, documentation reviews, and vendor coordination.
• Assist with spare parts identification and procurement requisitions.
• Provide input for system drawings, vendor manuals, testing requirements, and 3D models.
• Develop startup test plans, commissioning procedures, and discipline-integrated work packages.
• Conduct instrument installation inspections, calibrations, and functional tests.
• Apply NASA, industry, and regulatory standards in test plan development.
• Support design reviews, subsystem walkdowns, and punch list closeout.
• Prepare hazard assessments, work permits, and turnover packages.
• Execute ML2 instrument testing, commissioning, and startup activities in coordination with NASA, engineering, and construction teams.
• Prepare and review system testing documentation, test records, and procedures.
• Perform testing in compliance with Standard Test and Commissioning Procedures (STCP) and project-specific requirements.
• Oversee subcontractors and vendor technical advisors, ensuring scope alignment, cost control, and schedule compliance.
• Supervise craft workers, monitor performance, and ensure work quality.
• Lead system turnover walkdowns, manage punch list items, and support formal handovers.
• Report daily activities, progress updates, and design changes in accordance with company procedures.
• Collaborate closely with customer, operations, and maintenance personnel.
• Use standard applications (Microsoft Office, Setroute, Unifier, TeamWorks) for work tracking and documentation.
• Support additional project activities as required, including extended work hours, weekends, and holidays.
