Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate Advanced Care Technician (ACT-Float) to support nursing staff by providing essential patient care and comfort. This role involves assisting patients across various age groups, including infants, pediatric, and adult populations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean environment adhering to unit safety and infection control standards.
- Deliver comfort measures and assist with patients' daily needs, including meal assistance.
- Record and communicate vital signs and patient observations such as temperature, pulse, weight, and intake / output to supervisors.
- Clean and prepare medical equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.
- Prepare formula in the NICU department when applicable.
Qualifications
ACT : Preferred 3-6 months experience in an acute care setting.ACT-Float : Preferred 1 year of acute care experience.NICU Department : Required minimum 2 years CNA experience with strong pediatric background preferred.Basic computer proficiency is required.Ability to read, speak, and follow instructions in English.Familiarity with electronic charting is a plus.Education
Must hold one or more of the following upon hire :Current Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification.
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.Military Corpsman experience.Nursing student who has completed fundamentals including initial assessment and vital signs.Certifications
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 90 days of hire or transfer for specific departments.Completion of at least 10 continuing education hours related to work annually as an alternative to licensure maintenance.Additional Information
