Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position in the Float Pool with a MA RN license and rotating 12-hour shifts.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work within the Nursing Float Pool of a hospital setting
  • Care for medical-surgical patients with telemetry monitoring needs
  • Patient ratios range from 1 : 4 to 1 : 6
  • Required to float to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units as needed
  • 12-hour rotating shifts alternate between days (7a-7 : 30p) and nights (7p-7 : 30a) every 4 weeks
  • Every other weekend is required; weekends for days are Saturday and Sunday, nights are Friday through Sunday
  • Floating may occur in 4-hour blocks within a shift
  • No approval for time off during the Christmas holiday
  • Responsibilities include delivering care to a diverse med / surg telemetry population across multiple units
  • Weekly Monday start dates for new assignments
  • Pass / fail testing will be administered on the first day
  • Relias practice tests are available to assist with preparation
  • Medical exemptions for required vaccinations will be considered

    • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active RN license in Massachusetts is required
  • Current BLS certification from AHA is required
  • ACLS and NIHSS certifications are preferred
  • Must have or obtain all required vaccinations including COVID (plus booster) and flu, with exemptions allowed for medical reasons
  • Level 1 trauma experience is preferred; required for those without prior travel experience
  • Must not have worked at any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility in any capacity for at least 6 months to be considered
  • Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not eligible
  • Must pass Tele / ECG and medication testing on the first day
