American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position focusing on acute leukemia and hematology patients, requiring an active OH or compact RN license and at least 2 years of nursing experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU) settingAssignment in a new tower, Acute Leukemia and Hematology unitCare for adult and geriatric patients, primarily newly diagnosed acute leukemia casesStaffing ratio goal is 1 : 4, can be up to 1 : 5Work 12-hour night shifts with some day / night flexibilitySchedule is self-directed with no set or blocked scheduling, but subject to unit needs, including variable weekendsUses EPIC for electronic chartingSpecial focus on infection prevention and patient falls preventionResponsibilities include telemetry monitoring, infection prevention, and falls prevention in hematology / oncology patient populationOrientation includes a week of Mon-Fri days followed by 36 hours on-unit with a preceptorFirst-time travelers are not eligibleLocals are accepted at the same rate as travelersFormer employees may return after a minimum six-month breakCurrent employees of any Ohio State University hospital are not eligible for travel rolesTime off requests must be submitted with initial application and built into the contractStrict fingerprinting requirements for Ohio; completion is required immediately after contract signing\n \n Requirements\n
Active OH or compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 2 years of nursing experience requiredBLS and ACLS certifications requiredEducation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program requiredProficiency in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, rapid response, feeding tube care, IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, and starting IVsExperience using EPIC for charting requiredTwo professional references required : one must be a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for the secondONS Chemo Cert and NIHSS certification preferred\n Benefits\n
