Responsibilities Position covers PACU, Pre-op, and Recovery phases in an acute care setting Assignments may be at two locations with a total of 6 ORs, 4 Endo suites, 8 pre-op beds, 4 PACU beds, and 10 recovery beds Patients include general, GYN, orthopedic, hand, podiatry, ophthalmology, ENT, and endoscopy cases Nurse-to-patient ratios are Pre-op 1 : 2, PACU 1 : 1 to 1 : 3, and Recovery 1 : 2 to 1 : 3 Shift is 8 hours, 5 days per week (days) with varied start times between 0600-1800, Monday through Friday No call, weekend, or holiday coverage required Floating between Pre-op and PACU, and between different units is required Meditech is the primary EMR; some paper charting in use Duties include managing all phases of PACU and pre-op for surgical and endoscopic cases across multiple specialties Nurses are responsible for recovering Phase 1 and Phase 2 patients in both PACU and recovery units Support staff includes medical assistants who assist with admissions and discharges Unit management structure includes a charge nurse and manager for support 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor and assigned buddy provided Scrubs are provided for staff Candidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health in the past year in any capacity Requirements Active OR state or Compact RN license required at time of consideration At least 2 years of PACU experience required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS is preferred Proficient in Meditech EMR Must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-620753.
