Job description

Quality Lab Supervisor

An exceptional World Class Tier I Automotive supplier has an immediate need to fill a position of Quality Lab Supervisor at their plant located north of Lansing, MI. BASE TARGET : 60K to 75K + OT + Relocation Assistance + Excellent Benefits.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of lab technician
  • Manage overtime as needed
  • Develop and sustain report format for lab utilization, including CMM workload
  • Develop standard times for basic functions and individual gages and daily checks

CMM Responsibilities :

  • Programming of new jobs or revisions to existing jobs
  • Training and monitoring Lab Technician on use of CMM for programmed jobs
  • Maintaining CMM calibration and updates as needed
  • Write and control gage instructions and LMI unit

    • Lab Requirements :

  • Develop instructions, maintain and audit to ensure compliance on all required lab functions and record retention
  • Microscope checks
  • Paint and adhesive line checks
  • SPC checks
  • Flammability
  • Instron
  • All other lab equipment
  • Maintain calibration and records for all equipment used by lab personnel

    • Qualifications :

  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in an automotive manufacturing environment required
  • Minimum 2 years of CMM / quality experience in an automotive manufacturing environment required
  • Continuous Improvement experience preferred
  • Practical problem solving, organizational skills, PC knowledge
  • Self-directed, detail oriented, reliable, and strong initiative
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with leaders, peers, and others as required
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with all levels across the organization
  • Strong analytical background with demonstrated ability to analyze, explain, and draw logical conclusions from complex operational, financial, regulatory and / or business data
