Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring cardiac telemetry and infusion skills.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a short-term acute care hospital
  • Provides care for patients requiring telemetry, cardiac meds, and infusion therapies
  • Night shift schedule : 3x12-hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30
  • Rotating every other weekend and required to work one holiday per contract
  • No call responsibilities are required
  • Floating may be required to other stepdown or medical units and to affiliate hospitals depending on census
  • Uses Cerner EMR; experience with Cerner is required
  • Hospital is a Level III Trauma Center with 244 staffed beds
  • Must complete up to 8 hours of required modules within 1 week of signing, prior to start
  • Royal blue scrubs are required for this role
  • Professional conduct and attendance policies are strictly enforced; contract may be terminated for violations
  • Free parking is available on site
  • Maximum allowable RTO is 10 days, with at least one holiday worked if RTO includes holiday periods

    • Requirements

  • Active IN or compact state RN license, pending accepted if active by start date
  • Minimum of 1 year recent PCU or similar stepdown experience required
  • Certifications required : BLS and ACLS current at time of start
  • Experience with telemetry, cardiac medication administration, and infusion required
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; locals not accepted
  • First-time travelers are not accepted
  • Return staff must have a 3-year separation before returning as a traveler
