Job Title : Road Mechanic / Service Technician
Location : Cedar Rapids, IA (On-site)
Job Summary :
We are seeking a Road Mechanic / Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose, and perform advanced repairs on equipment at customer locations. Our fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and specialty lines such as large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil / gas equipment.

Education & Experience :
High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired.
1-2 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty equipment strongly preferred.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (21+ years old; CDL may be required in some locations).

Technical Skills :
Diesel engine diagnostics and repair
Hydraulic system maintenance and troubleshooting
Electrical system diagnostics and repair
Preventive maintenance procedures
Heavy equipment operation and repair (construction, pumps, generators, HVAC)
Welding, fabrication, or metalworking (optional / bonus)
Use of hand and power tools
Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints
Equipment safety inspection and compliance
Soft / Professional Skills :
Problem-solving
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Bilingual skills (Spanish or other) may be required depending on location
Physical Demands :
Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 lbs or more

Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
Ability to lift 50 lbs+, work indoors / outdoors, and bend / crouch as required
Nice to Have :
Trade school or technical training in mechanical or electrical systems
Experience with Aerial Work Platforms, construction tools, or large-scale equipment
Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages based on location)
Previous military experience with transferable MOS / AFSC / NEC codes (optional but applicable)
ASE or IFPS Certification
