Description :
Patient identification is crucial.
Uses professional manners and methods to verify patient identification.
Obtains patient history and assists patients and family members who require extra attention.
Ensures patient understanding whenever possible and prioritizes patient safety.
Verifies patient identification and documents pregnancy status for patients of childbearing age.
Demonstrates knowledge of MRI technology and cross-sectional human anatomy.
Is competent in operating MRI scanners and proficient in automatic injections of MRI contrast.
Maintains proficiency with disc drives, gateways, PACS, and laser printers.
Holds active status with the ARRT by accruing continuing education when needed.
Interprets protocols and selects appropriate scanning parameters.
Shares knowledge with fellow MRI technologists.
Uses technical knowledge to actively troubleshoot equipment and protocol issues.
Administers oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols.
Establishes intravenous lines and administers IV contrast following safe procedures.
Checks appropriate lab values before contrast injection per protocol.
Maintains thorough understanding of PACS and transmits images accordingly.
Verifies and segments images at the QC station.
Accesses service tools to ensure successful image transmission.
Completes, modifies, and cancels orders in a timely manner.
Cancels duplicate orders to avoid billing errors.
Ensures that all charge information is accurate.
Verifies patient identification and confirms that demographic information is accurate on PACS images.
Performs tasks promptly and runs the schedule to create a consistent workflow.
Volunteers for challenging tasks, difficult procedures, and new research.
Produces quality diagnostic images and reviews patient charts for correlation.
Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
Documents incidents as opportunities for improvement for staff and the department.
Precepts new employees and students.
