Description : Position Purpose :
At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center the Outpatient Infusion Registered Nurse RN specializes in administering medications and fluids through intravenous (IV) lines .
What You Will Do :
Infusion nurses administer medications fluids and blood products directly into patients veins closely monitoring them for reactions and complications during and after infusions.
Vascular Access Device (VAD) Management : This includes inserting maintaining and removing various types of IV lines such as peripheral IV lines central lines and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines).
They educate patients and caregivers about the infusion process potential side effects and home care if needed.
Infusion nurses work with a team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
Minimum Qualifications :
Required :
Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associates degree in Nursing.
Valid RN license in the state of Connecticut.
Ideal candidates will have 1 year of experience in IV Infusion or Ambulatory Infusion sites which is highly preferred.
Preferred :
Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN).
Consideration will be given provided the expertise includes two or more years of medical / surgical nursing experience in an acute inpatient setting.
BLS / CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) certification support available post-hire.
Position Highlights :
Full-Time 32 hours / week - Day Shift.
No weekends or holidays required.
