Job descriptionWork in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit with 10 LDR beds, 2 triage beds, and 2 OR suites High acuity patient population including cases with language barriers, substance abuse, and chronic conditions affecting pregnancy Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 1-2 depending on acuity and staffing Uses equipment such as warmers, GE monitors, pulse oximeters, and blood glucose analyzers Fetal monitoring required; no fetal monitoring certification required 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a), every other weekend and every other major holiday required No on-call responsibilities May occasionally float to the Mother / Baby unit EMR system used is Epic (experience preferred) Responsibilities include care coordination, patient assessment, planning, education, nursing interventions, and evaluation throughout labor and delivery Will work as part of a team with 3 RNs and 1 tech for most shifts Frequent collaboration with interdisciplinary care teams to support patient outcomes Must provide care for high acuity cases and diverse patient needs Pass / fail EKG testing required on first day, with two attempts allowed and study guides provided Every other major holiday coverage required First-time travelers will be considered Active VA or compact RN license required Minimum one year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required Experience circulating for deliveries required (scrubbing not required) Current BLS and NRP certifications required Fetal monitoring experience required Must live more than 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates) High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
