Responsibilities
- Own the strategic vision and execution roadmap for the retail vertical, aligning with overall business goals and market trends
- Drive top-line growth through new business development, client acquisition, and expansion into emerging retail segments
- Lead the development and implementation of go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and customer engagement frameworks
- Oversee end-to-end operations including store performance, supply chain efficiency, inventory management, and customer experience
- Manage the vertical’s financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, and profitability tracking
- Build and mentor a high-performing team across sales, marketing, operations, and support functions, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation
- Collaborate with product, technology, and analytics teams to introduce digital solutions, automation, and omnichannel capabilities
- Represent the organization in industry forums, client meetings, and strategic partnerships, positioning the brand as a retail thought leader
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue growth, conversion rates, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency
- Continuously evaluate market dynamics, competitor strategies, and consumer behavior to refine business plans and stay ahead of the curve
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related discipline; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferredMinimum 15+ years of experience in the retail industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large teams and business unitsDemonstrated success in building and scaling retail operations across geographies, formats (offline / online), and customer segmentsStrong understanding of retail business models, merchandising, supply chain, store operations, and digital transformation strategiesProven track record of managing P&L, driving revenue growth, improving margins, and delivering business outcomesExperience in leading cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, operations, and technologyExcellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage CXOs, partners, and internal leadershipProficiency in data-driven decision-making using retail analytics, CRM platforms, and performance dashboardsStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environmentEOE
