About the Department
The Georgia State College of Law Library is excited to announce our open Legal Technologies Librarian position. This position works within the Georgia State College of Law Library and the nationally recognized Legal Analytics and Innovation Initiative ( LAII ), which is recognized as a national leader in legal technology education by the Bloomberg Law Innovation Program, National Jurist, and Prelaw Magazine. Reporting to the Associate Director for Legal Technology and Innovation, this position would act as the subject matter expert for emerging legal technology, law firm technology, and legal technology initiatives for the Georgia State College of Law, Law Library, and LAII .
Position Description
This position will be hired at the Law Librarian Instructor, Law Librarian Assistant or Law Librarian Associate Professor rank. The position presents wide-ranging opportunities for a candidate interested in law libraries and legal technology and innovation. The candidate would contribute significantly to LAII curriculum development, teaching, and a newly created Technology and Innovation path within the current LAII Certificate program . There is considerable room for growth, and the candidate would be encouraged to propose courses, develop programming, and generally take on new challenges that interest them. The candidate would also work within the library, teaching a first-year introductory research course, providing reference services, and performing other public services duties.
We are interested in candidates with a wide range of experience levels and are willing to devote resources to developing the right person.
Part of one of the Southeast's largest comprehensive research universities, Georgia State Law is a dynamic urban-centered law school located in the heart of Atlanta with approximately 650 full and part-time students.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION : This position provides support to the Law Library and Legal Analytics and Innovation Initiative ( LAII ) by being the subject matter expert on legal technology, law firm technology, and law and technology. This person is expected to teach, present, and generally work in this area in support of the College of Law, Law Library, and LAII curriculum. This position is a non-tenure-track faculty member in the College of Law with the status of Law Librarian.
DUTIES :
Applications are welcome from both entry-level and mid-career individuals. Applicants without a completed MLIS or MLS degree will only be considered for the rank of Law Librarian Instructor.

Required Experience
Required Education
MLIS or MLS (Master's in Information or Master's in Library Science) from an ALA -accredited program; or an entering or currently enrolled student of an MLIS or MLS program.
