Description :

Unit Description : 39-bed Medical / Telemetry Adult Inpatient Unit.

Patients generally have multiple medical conditions in addition to their admitting diagnosis.

There are 20 private rooms and 19 semi-private rooms.

Floating within the unit is required.

Rotating shifts may include 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a as needed.

Rotation frequency for shifts is low.

Skill sets required include telemetry experience, ability to interpret telemetry strips, nursing assessment skills, and knowledge of medication safety and administration.

The clinician to patient ratio is typically 4 / 5 patients when working with a Patient Care Assistant and 3 patients when working alone.

The patient population consists of medical and low-risk cardiac cases.

The electronic medical record (EMR) system used for charting is EPIC.
