Sysco is Now Hiring Diesel Fleet Technicians Lvl. II in Ankeny, IA to join a dynamic team of maintenance professionals who strive for excellence and growth.
Key Responsibilities : Perform rigorous inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances to ensure the safety, reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the life cycle of the fleet
Carry out FAI / CVI (Annual) inspections on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, light-duty vehicles, and any other company-owned equipment in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and standards
Conduct quality preventive maintenance inspections per company methods on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift-gates, light-duty vehicles, and any other company-owned equipment to guarantee optimal performance and longevity
Undertake quality maintenance repairs as required to maximize safety and reliability on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift-gates, light-duty vehicles, and any company-owned equipment to meet or exceed regulatory requirements and company expectations
Address all Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups promptly and efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure vehicle readiness
Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications including engines, transmissions and clutches, drive-line, differential, steering and suspension, fuel and ignition system, exhaust systems, intake systems, electrical systems, brake systems, HVAC systems and lift-gate hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems to restore vehicles to operational status
Document all work performed on work orders following established procedures to ensure accurate record-keeping and facilitate future reference
Develop proficiency in Sysco computer programs and learn from experience to enhance job efficiency and productivity
Acquire knowledge of electrical meter testing, controls and electric (DC - distribution center) low voltage, electric motor knowledge (DC), and complete electrical repairs and welding projects as needed to expand skillset and contribute to the teams success
Requirements : Education : High school diploma or GED
Current and valid drivers license (CDL preferred, not required)
Experience : Medium / heavy-duty truck technical training / experience
3 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair OR 2 years of school and 1 year of experience
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations : Annual Inspector Certification, knowledge, skills, and abilities
Brake Inspector Certification, knowledge, skills, and abilities
ASE certifications; automotive or medium / heavy-duty trucks
609 HVAC certification
Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEMs and component manufacturers
The technician must provide their own tools (diagnostic equipment and major tools provided by Sysco) necessary to perform all maintenance repairs, and diagnostics
