Responsibilities :

• Provide direct support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities
• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
• Implement behavior management systems to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
• Ensure the rights and dignity of residents are respected and upheld at all times
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents
• Document and report any significant changes in residents' behavior or health to the appropriate supervisor
• Drive residents to appointments, outings, and community activities

Skills :

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals with developmental disabilities
• Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for individuals' needs and preferences
• Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of maintaining confidentiality
• Ability to lift and assist with transferring residents as needed
• Fluent in English, able to read, write and communicate in English
