Medical Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing vital sign documentation, preparing patients and rooms for exams and procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment. You will support the physician's practice by organizing and performing patient care services, preparing patients for examination / procedures, and relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital sign documentation.
• Prepare patients and rooms for exams and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
• Organize and perform patient care services that support the physician's practice.
• Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person.
• Collect patient data in person and by phone, document patient concerns, and messages.
• Administer medications as specifically directed by the physician.
• Take complete and accurate messages, route messages to the appropriate area for direction.
• Enter orders and referrals, set up cases in the EMR system, and update demographics.
• Accurately document medical information in patient records.
• Track and route test results to physician(s) / nurse practitioner(s) for review.
• Communicate test results with patients when deemed appropriate by physician / nurse practitioner.
• Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests and reinforcing patient education.
• Perform triage as appropriate and directed by physician / nurse practitioner.
• Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies.
• Perform basic computer skills in using electronic health records proficiently.

Work Environment

Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM. This position is based in an Internal Medicine practice with over 20 locations. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
