Comprehensive OR Time : Guaranteed operating room access with flexible scheduling to accommodate both elective and urgent cases

Advanced Technology : Robot availability for minimally invasive procedures, enhancing patient outcomes and surgical precision

Bread & Butter Practice : Full spectrum general surgery including laparoscopic procedures, hernia repairs, gallbladder surgery, appendectomies, and general surgical oncology

Regionalized Call Coverage : Call responsibilities are distributed among multiple physicians across the region, significantly reducing individual call burden

Structured to promote physician wellness and prevent burnout

Collaborative Team Environment : Work alongside experienced surgeons and dedicated support staff

Comprehensive surgical consultation services for hospitalized patients

Outpatient Clinic & Inpatient Consults  will cover 2 ministries.

Emergency Coverage : Participation in trauma and emergency surgical care as part of the regional call system

Outpatient Services : Clinic-based consultations and follow-up care

Multidisciplinary Collaboration : Work closely with primary care physicians, specialists, and advanced practice providers

Community Impact

Contribute to the overall health and wellness of Southern Illinois

Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program

Board certification or board eligibility in General Surgery

Valid Illinois medical license or the ability to obtain

Hospital privileges or the ability to obtain

Fellowship training in relevant subspecialty

Experience with robotic surgery platforms

Commitment to patient-centered care and quality improvement
