We are seeking compassionate and caring individuals to join our team of volunteers who provide emotional, social, and practical support to hospice patients and their families. As a patient care volunteer, you will have the opportunity to make a profound impact by offering companionship, respite care, and a comforting presence to individuals in the final stages of life.
Volunteer Responsibilities :
- Provide companionship and emotional support to hospice patients at least once a month, helping them feel seen and heard
- Offer respite care to family members, giving them a much-needed break while ensuring their loved one remains safe and comfortable
- Assist with light housekeeping, running errands, or other non-medical tasks that support the patient's comfort.
- Provide a calming presence and engage in activities such as reading, playing music, or simply talking
- Help with end-of-life care being present with patients and offering comfort during this sensitive time.
Qualifications :
Compassionate, patience, and empathetic demeanorAbility to listen actively, and offer emotional supportComfort in spending time with patients in their final stages of lifeNo previous hospice experience is needed; Mandatory orientation will be provided.Must be at least 18 years old.Must have drivers licenseA background check is requiredCommitment
