About the Position
This position will support the customer quality team by reviewing and responding to warranty replacement requests and product safety and liability claims through resolution, fielding and discussing technical issues, answering questions from customers, sales colleagues, teammates and suppliers of our products and status of warranty claims. This position will also support approving warranty payments within the limits described in the process. Other responsibilities include placing finished goods and or components in quarantine if they are suspected of not meeting quality requirements. Further, initiating follow-up and corrective actions for disposition of quarantined product. This position will work closely with the head of government affairs and our Product Engineering team with ensuring our newly launched products meet federal, regional and local regulations. When managing supplier related claims, this position will work directly with suppliers to ensure corrective / preventive actions are taken and LEDVANCE is compensated for cost of poor supplier quality, and summarizing quality data using the claim system. This position will also function as lead auditor for our ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 programs at our HQ office and support our other distribution and business offices.
Responsibilities extend to reviewing stock when product becomes obsolete to insure it is reserved for warranty claims at later dates as well as managing risk reviews for extended warranty requests.
This position will provide secondary support to our customer quality engineering team, duties can include : resolving our customers’ claims while remaining fiscally responsible and applying resolution within our written warranty terms as quickly and efficiently as possible to meet our customers’ needs. Claim management includes testing of failed products and communicating resolution to customers and sales representatives for those accounts. This position contacts relevant manufacturing teams and works with them to improve future products.

Essential duties :
- Maintaining launch certification matrix which is a resource for defining required product certification and compliance regulations
- Department Of Energy and National Resources of Canada (nrCAN) submissions for reporting requirements of regulated products.
- Internal ISO 9001 / 14001 corporate and internal audits, including follow up.
- Manage continuous improvement program
- Assist in ISO 14001 monthly activities for headquarters
- Maintaining and managing improvement actions for quality and HQ business processes
- Leading and managing Retail and Ecommerce improvement team, including data review and action disposition
- Managing safety and liability claims with the customer and working with CQM team on analysis, and escalation if needed
- Responding to customers and team members questions regarding product quality, certification, expected performance, etc.
- Data review and analysis of customer claim data, return data and reviews (monthly)
- Assess warranty hold quantities issue quality holds for warranty
- Managing extended warranty submittals and risk tracking
Customer Quality Engineering support :
Evaluate failed product to identify root cause. Propose and / or evaluate design and process quality measures and systems to ensure product quality during design and manufacturing phases, often identified as a result of 8D Methodology for resolving the problem.Provide first level technical support to customers for troubleshooting technical issues as well as responding to product safety and liability claims involving our product.Ensure that all claims handled are appropriately reported within Customer Quality Management so they become part of the feedback to the Business Unit Product, Quality and Supplier ManagersRequirements and Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or relevant field) Preference for 1 year of experience or more.Experience with ISO 9001-2015 and ISO 14001 standardsAuditing experience a +Experience with instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, color measuring and temperature measuring equipment.Demonstrated ability to work within a team structure with cross-functional relationships.In-depth working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office SuiteStatistical methods training and experience are desired (8D Methodology, FMEA and Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing)Must have excellent written and verbal communication since this position will be in contact with customers as well as internal key function heads.
