Position : Director of Analytics

Length : Full Time

Location : Santa Clara, CA ( (minimum of 2 days in Santa Clara until SF office opens in Q3, then may need to travel 1 day per week to Santa Clara or on as needed basis)

ABOUT YOU

Builder at Heart : You've previously stood up the analytics function in an early-stage company and know how to architect foundational data systems—from metric definitions to dashboards to the infrastructure beneath it all.

Decisive and Adaptive : You're energized by ambiguity, fast cycles, and undefined paths. You act quickly, favor progress over perfection, and know how to balance short-term execution with scalable long-term planning.

Both Strategic and Tactical : Whether you're in the data or in a strategy meeting, you're at home. You write clean SQL, build intuitive reporting, and also help steer product and GTM direction using data-driven insights.

Collaborative and Insight-Driven : You navigate across Product, Engineering, and Go-to-Market teams with ease—aligning stakeholders, unblocking decisions, and ensuring data is part of every important conversation.

WHAT YOU'LL TAKE ON

Lead Our Analytics Vision : You'll shape and implement a company-wide analytics strategy—prioritizing needs, building systems, and driving alignment across teams.

Establish Core Metrics & Tools : You'll create frameworks for KPIs, design scalable dashboards, and partner with Data Engineering to build a self-service analytics ecosystem with a governed metrics layer.

Be a Strategic Advisor : Use data to guide big decisions across product strategy, customer growth, and GTM efficiency. Deliver clear, influential insights to leaders across the org.

Build and Grow the Analytics Org : As our client scales, you'll define what great analytics looks like—recruiting, mentoring, and leading a team of analysts, data scientists, and analytics engineers, while fostering a high-trust, high-performance culture.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 8+ years of experience in analytics or data leadership roles, ideally in SaaS, enterprise tech, or AI-enabled platforms
• Academic background in a quantitative field like Math, Stats, Computer Science, Economics, or similar
• Expert-level SQL and comfort with today's analytics toolkits (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, Hex, Sigma, Looker, or equivalents)
• Track record of owning the full analytics lifecycle : from instrumentation and modeling to reporting and experimentation
• Strong product sense—you're always digging for the "why" behind the numbers and asking the questions that others haven't thought to
• Excellent communicator—able to translate analytical findings into clear narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working in a high-growth startup, where prioritization and momentum matter
