Senior Fiscal Analyst
Reporting to the Revenue Forecasting Fiscal Manager, the Senior Fiscal Analyst contributes to the County's multi-year revenue forecasting, financial analysis, and financial reporting activities.
As a senior-level contributor, this position serves as a subject matter resource for data-driven forecasting and supports the development of analytical frameworks used by Executive Management for key fiscal decisions.
This role involves professional analytical work focused on improving financial models, maintaining data accuracy, and strengthening the efficiency of financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, strong analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities Include :
- Data Collection and Management : Gather, organize, and maintain historical and current financial data from various sources for multiple revenue streams. Research industry standards, trends, best practice, and emerging technologies, to inform forecasting assumptions. Ensure data integrity and accuracy for use in forecasting models and financial analyses.
- Financial Modeling and Analysis Support : Support the development, refinement, and maintenance of advanced Excel-based financial models. Perform data entry and validation for forecasting models, ensuring precision and reliability of outputs. Update models regularly with the latest data and support scenario analysis as required.
- Reporting and Process Improvement : Support the preparation and development of financial reports, presentations, and dashboards. Assist in the analysis of financial performance, including budget-to-actual variances and revenue trends. Collaborate to refine reporting tools and processes, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy. Identify opportunities for process automation or improvement, particularly within Excel models.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration : Work closely with other departments to ensure consistent and accurate financial data flow. Support communication and collaboration across teams for comprehensive financial planning.
- Administrative and Ad-Hoc Support : Manage scheduling, documentation, and logistics for meetings and presentations. Respond to ad-hoc analysis requests and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements : High School Diploma and five (5) years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or closely related field; six (6) or more years of relevant experience.Technical Skills : Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (XLOOKUP, Tables, nested functions) and strong command of Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams; experience with forecasting or financial modeling software.Analytical & Communication Skills : Demonstrated ability to interpret complex financial data, present findings clearly to non-financial audiences, and contribute to high-impact decision-making.Work Traits : Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.Public Sector Experience : Familiarity with local government finance, budgeting, and revenue sources.Work Schedule : We offer a flexible schedule within standard business hours, with an average work week of 37.5 hours. This position is a hybrid of remote and on-site work, generally requiring a few days per month of on-site work and the requirement to report for on-site meetings as needed and scheduled. The amount of on-site required work is subject to change. Most of the work is Monday through Friday, during normal business hours. However, occasionally work during non-standard hours may be required. Work schedule and hours are subject to change based on business need.
Hiring Salary Range : $70,921.50 $84,444.75 / yr.
